Athena and Arachne <25 A-1>

In Greek mythology, Athena and Arachne are characters in a famous weaving contest. The story is a cautionary tale about the dangers of hubris and comparing oneself to the gods. 

Arachne, in Greek mythology, the daughter of Idmon of Colophon in Lydia, a dyer in purple.

Arachne was a weaver who acquired such skill in her art that she ventured to challenge Athena, goddess of war, handicraft, and practical reason. Athena wove a tapestry depicting the gods in majesty, while that of Arachne showed their amorous adventures. Enraged at the perfection of her rival’s work (or, alternatively, offended by its subject matter), Athena tore it to pieces, and in despair Arachne hanged herself. But the goddess out of pity loosened the rope, which became a cobweb; Arachne herself was changed into a spider, whence the name of the zoological class to which spiders belong, Arachnida. Ovid’s Metamorphoses is the chief source of the story. The Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs <25SH-01>

This work symbolizes the blessed appearance of a beautiful woman, who lays golden eggs every day, like a goose that lays golden eggs. However, families who do not know the woman's sacrifice and mistreat her. It metaphorically alludes to maternal love that perseveres and builds a family despite such persecution. The title of the work is borrowed from Aesop's fable, and it uses a technique that cleverly merges the graceful appearance of a woman with worldliness.

<Meet Joe Black > is a 1998 American romantic fantasy drama film directed and produced by Martin Brest, starring Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins, and Claire Forlani.

This work contains a captured and recomposed image of one of the final scenes of <Meet Joe Black>. The woman holds a flower in her right hand and the man holds gold in his right hand.

Syrano & Roxane <2022-501>

Cyrano, a gladiator with an abnormally large nose and an ugly appearance, but who does his job faithfully, unfortunately loves his cousin Roxane. However, he is unable to confess his love in the end. This scene shows him briefly greeting his sister at the castle gate.

Act 1. Hamlet meets King Hamlet(Ghost) in the midnight.

Act 2. Beautiful Ophelia who holds flowers in her arms is walking in the palace.

Act 3. Despite of meeting his uncle Claudius (murdered King Hamlet with poison) alone who regrets his sin in the midst of pray, Hamlet hesitates to kill him.

Act 4. Before death moment in the stream, Hamlet's fiance Ophelia(mad) wears flowers in her head and broken branches in her right arm with torn skirt in the wind.

Act 5. Dying Hamlet’s last moment just after fencing struggle with Ophelia’s brother Latres who put poison on the tip of fencing knife secretly.

Soon after Petruchio and Katherine arrive at his house, Petruchio announces, “Sit down, Kate, And welcome. (to servant) Food, food, food, food!” (4.1: 128-9). This apparent gesture of hospitality—of welcoming Kate to eat with him—is soon shown to be a cynical ruse. Under the pretense of scolding his servants for serving him poorly, and his cooks for burning the meat, Petruchio throws the food away, along with the “trenchers, cups, and all” (155). After, for hungry Shrew Katherine, when the servants are preparing special dinner, Petruchio intentionally interpeares to set the dinner foods. He says“What are bad foods for my precious lady?” And throw all the table settings: As the manner, he tames her for a week long. (Act 5)

The scene continues with first-class tailors who received a custom-made order for Catherine bringing the clothes to the house, and Petruchio shouting, "What kind of clothes did you bring to my pretty wife!" Then, when he tears the clothes, the tailors are embarrassed and do not know what to do

 It is based on a new aesthetic that emphasizes high-level humor through visual humor and plot twists. This work depicts a scene of intense life like the Film <Getaway(1972, 1994 remake)>, and summarizes the contents of money, love, greed, jealousy, and betrayal into one scene.

Last Supper : Bread & Wine <2023-405>

This work is a parody of Da Vinci's The Last Supper. However, based on the content of the Bible, it uses a two-story structure to place Christ and the 12 apostles, and on the left and right, women who deliver bread and wine are placed to carry them up the stairs, while on the lower floor, a man and a woman who are completely unaware of this are asleep. This suggests that the supper was held in the middle of the night. On the other hand, sacredness and worldliness form a contrast between the upper and lower floors.
