공중의 땅

 

나는 이 시리즈의 작품들을 통해서, 우리들의 마음에는 새로운 땅과 언덕 그리고 들판, 절벽들의 이미지들이 가끔 스쳐 지나간다. 나는 그 땅을 묘사하고 싶다. 그곳은 무릉도원이며, 천상의 세계이고, 지금의 우리들이 살아있는 공간이기도 하다. 가끔 꿈에 나타나는 마음의 고향이라고나 할까, 아무튼 색다른 공간이 된다. 이러한 공간 위에 한 사람 혹은 두 사람, 세 사람이 올라가 있다. 그들은 기도하기도 하고 만세를 부르기도 하고 절규하기도 한다. 사회적 정서적 경제적 자유를 갈구하는 우리의 모습이기도 하고, 신의 모습이기도 하다.

 

Ideal World

 

Through the works of this series, images of new lands, hills, fields, and cliffs sometimes pass through our minds. I want to describe that land. It is a paradise, a heavenly world, and the space where we live now. Sometimes, it is a hometown of the heart that appears in dreams, or in any case, it becomes a unique space. One, two, or three people stand on this space. They pray, cheer, and scream. It is our appearance that longs for social, emotional, and economic freedom, and it is also the appearance of God.
